Review of Podiatry Bracknell
24th April 2024

Very helpful and communicative podiatrist, who was keen to find some methods of improving the state of my foot and leg and help with ankle support and pain. While I am under both Podiatry and Orthotics essentially looking at making the same sorts of things, I am not sure how applicable it will be to me in the end. Otherwise a very productive appointment with a friendly therapist who gave me a good amount of time.

Suggested improvements
I was happy with the care I received, so don't have anything to add here.

Email sent to [name removed] one of the crisis team managers in relation to the terrifying experience with Wokingham fan community and telehealth daily team. Dear [name removed], I hope you are doing great. Please, there is no need to call me. I feel it would be better if you could confirm that you have received this email, whenever possible, and that I will be taken back into the crisis team care and with my psychiatrist [name removed] [name removed], for the following urgent reasons: Summary: - After being discharged by the daily team, I experienced a severe collapse at a local store, leaving me without mobility for over 7 hours. I was then taken to the hospital, where I was diagnosed with mental health-related conditions like psychogenic pseudosyncope and vasovagal syncope. - However, the daily team did nothing to support me for over 2 weeks. My anxiety attacks went unnoticed, and I felt completely abandoned, leading me to reach out to the crisis team in tears, with worsening of my situation and mental health, including suicidal thoughts and inclinations. Despite my complaints, the daily team has removed any record of my feeling mistreated and abandoned from their notes. - Worse, they have now claimed that I said I was feeling better and no longer needed their support, which is a complete lie. My GP had sent a letter to [name removed] [name removed] expressing concerns, but the daily team intercepted it and provided false information to my GP. - My relationship with [name removed] has ended amicably, and she is moving out to a different area. I need urgent support to live alone, as sharing my life 24/7 with someone is not appropriate, and I have been experiencing several anxiety attacks that affect both of us. I need to focus on improving my mental health and finding the right support and medication. - My financial situation is worsening, but [name removed] from IPS, together with my GP and her assistant [name removed], are helping intensely and will be assisting with financial support for this transition to living independently. - I urgently need a review of my medication (overdue for more than a month now) by [name removed] [name removed], and to progress with the different action plans and support he wrote in my diagnosis letter, including psychology and therapy. This is important due to worsening anxiety, fear of collapsing, and sedative effects of my current medication. I implore you to intervene to ensure that I receive the proper care through the crisis team and the support I need to maintain my mental health. Extra: I do not want to be involved with the daily team anymore, as their actions have already caused me harm. I just need proper support to improve, but please don't send me to people like the daily team, as it has cost me a lot to advance, and now I'm losing my relationship too and almost my work. If it wasn't for my GP, [name removed], and [name removed], and the medication from [name removed] [name removed], I would have harmed myself. I cannot cope with the anxiety attacks from interacting with individuals whose actions have already caused me harm, and the only apologies I've heard are inadequate. I am personally scared and concerned about the implications of this team's actions on individuals with mental health challenges like myself who cannot speak up or find alternatives. This is embarrassing for our society that we should be helping each other. It is not a matter of funds, but a matter of principles and care. If they cannot attend to everyone with quality, it is better to provide good experiences to a few than poor assistance to many, which only creates more problems for patients already struggling with their mental health. Full Email: My situation is quite desperate. I have a huge complaint about the daily team. After you discharged me that weekend, I had a collapse in the Wokingham Waitrose. I was without mobility in my legs for more than 7 hours. Later that evening, I was taken by an ambulance to the Reading hospital, where they determined, as defined by [name removed] [name removed], that my condition was not due to physical symptoms but rather mental health-related, diagnosed as psychogenic pseudosyncope and vasovagal syncope. Regarding the urgency of the medication review, my GP directly sent a letter to [name removed] [name removed] on the 10th of this month, expressing their concerns about my mental health state and medication. However, 2 days ago, they received a response from someone called [name removed] (who will avoid taking my calls or speaking to me about his letter), apparently a senior assistant social worker (that needs urgently to be downgraded and retrained), who explained to my GP, [name removed] [name removed], via letter that I was contacted by them and stated that I was feeling much better and didn't need any more support from the daily team, so they have discharged me. The unbelievable part of this is that these people are trying to hide the feedback that users are providing about their unprofessional way of working. [name removed] attended a meeting last week with other patients of mental health services, where they were complaining about the lack of professionalism and the huge delay in the daily team's response, with some mentioning more than a month. It is not possible to work with people who are not honest, and I don't feel safe around those individuals. They are removing the complaints and sending a letter to my GP, lying about the true nature of the situation without taking any responsibility for the fact that I was desperately seeking help, and they failed to support me, creating a feeling of distrust about their methods by factually avoiding contacting and supporting me for over 2 weeks after I had a collapse that took me to the hospital. In my perception, I was treated worse than an abandoned dog. I believe I exploded before the end of the two weeks, and I contacted [name removed] in the crisis team, crying tears of feeling totally abandoned, and he helped me engage with my GP and [name removed], all of them supported me and helped me. All of this would have been avoided if you from the Crisis team didn't throw me to the Daily team. Please, please, don't do this to me when my mental health is so challenging. If you don't want to assist me more, just take me back to my GP and provide a stable referral for a psychiatrist and a psychologist to continue my treatment as [name removed] [name removed] implied in his diagnose letter, but don't throw me to the back door. Whoever is the manager of the crisis team, please make them aware of this. This is important. For some individuals, the Daily team is not an option, and I feel they know this already, so please stop using us as a sort of an experiment. You help us with the crisis team, then you destroy us again in the daily team. That has to stop, please. The implications these people can have on the lives of people with mental disabilities could be very negative, and I am an example of their lack of support and their failure to do what they say they will do, which led me to anxiety attacks, for which I hold them completely responsible. Please, Crisis team, what do you need to see to stop sending us to the Daily team? It is not enough that you have already received all the complaints? Can't you see that the Daily team is not helping people but worsening their condition? What are you waiting for, someone to kill themselves? Do I have to be that person? Would it be sufficient then to change this system that is not working? My urgent need is for a medication review and increase due to more anxiety attacks, the fear of collapsing, and the sedative effects of the medication on me. I need you to contact [name removed] [name removed]uel [name removed] to review my medication and to start with my therapy, and a stable support shared with my GP and [name removed]. Please let me know how you would proceed, as my GP and I are waiting for responses. I urgently need my medication to be reviewed and increased if appropriate, and also to follow therapy to help me with my condition, an action plan, and an stable phyquiatrist and psychology that my GP can reach to enquire if he feels it is necessary. Please I beg you! [name removed].

The problem is not that you lack of personal for the daily theme as someone in the cares meeting mentioned, the problem is that the people in the daily team lacks of care. And unfortunately this is not something that you can fix but to remove completely and close down the daily team fiasco, fundamentally because the amount of frustration that is providing to patients with mental disabilities that ended up in their hands. This is far from quality of care, this is close to neglect. You need to urgently reinforce with extra funds if necessary the crisis team that is working amazingly well. It's much better that you offer service to less people and put others in a queue that you try to give service to everyone and in the end what you are doing is harming everyone, this is not the way to work with people with mental health challenges because you neglect the main premise that is to respect the patient and to care about them, excuses about lack of funding or lack of personal are just excuses the problem is systemic you are fundamental structure is not based on quality but in quantity and you are failing totally. Manager of daily theme has to be relocate someone else with quality of care in mind has to take over if this daily team service has any possibilities of being useful for society and no creating more mental health issues to people with mental health challenges. As a passion with mental disability and if my IPS employment tutor (I would say) by GP and her assistance agree I will be happy to provide some of my weekly hours in order to help in order to answer calls in order to provide some support to people in need, some empathy and comprehension, trying to be useful and an example of what I'm trying to complain here about. I've been working almost 6 years with people with disabilities. But also maybe do my condition I'm not the right person to help.
